Aquillo are an instrumental guitar duo comprising Merv Young and Stuart Wheaton.
We are based in Surrey/Hampshire and are more than happy to travel across London and the South East and further afield if required!
Both working as professional guitarists, guitar teachers and guitar examiners we draw on a range of musical experiences to deliver a varied instrumental acoustic guitar set that features classical, jazz, latin, rock and blues influences.
Our musical history has included session work, albums for EMI records and work on numerous guitar magazine articles and guitar tuition books.
We have plenty of experience at playing for wedding receptions, ceremonies and a host of other events. We can offer the ideal accompaniment to any occasion whether you are looking for background music or something livelier. We can combine the classical repertoire with foot tapping jazz as well as some unique takes on classic rock and pop tunes, and much more. All of these sit alongside plenty of furious fretwork and energy. Enjoy our musical journey!!
